House for sale

House for sale. Waterfront property. Historic preservation district.

A bit of a commute.

Actually, the commute was a delight - just 40 minutes on the vaporetto from Fondamente Nuovo, to the dock on Burano Island.  Compared to the 405 at rush hour, it's a breeze.

The place is a fixer-upper, though.

How would the fixer upper's fixer-upper get her lumber and concrete mixer there?

Hi, Shrink - they'd get it there by boat. It's amazing to see how everything in Venice you'd normally see on a truck, goes by boat, including barges with cranes and heavy machinery on them!

What is "fax?" Some Italian word I don't know?

Looks fine to me. I certainly wouldn't waste any time fixing it.
